Nana 2 Homestay

The people were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and beautiful for good prices. It’s near the Hue night walking street.

The cost didn’t feel justified for a room that was noisy, moldy, unhygienic, and missing basic furnishings. Other homestays I saw were cleaner and nicer for less. I booked NANA in a rush and trusted the listing, which left me really disappointed. The room itself was in poor shape. There was mold, yellow staining and what looked like children’s drawings on the walls. No wardrobe, air conditioner remote, fridge, hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo, or toothpaste, despite some of these being listed. The towels had green and black marks, the pillows still had mold stains and didn’t seem to have been changed, the toilet door was stiff, and outside noise came through while I was trying to sleep. The service was just as frustrating. I’d agreed with reception to pay after checkout, but someone came asking for payment in the middle of the night. I had no plan to avoid paying, but that felt unprofessional. When we couldn’t park the car, nobody offered to help. After we showered and realized there was no dryer, it took a long time for staff to bring one. They also kept my ID card after I paid and didn’t return it. There was also a problem with my friend’s new charger. When he couldn’t find it, he asked the owner, who handed him an old charger that looked ready to break. He explained it wasn’t his, and she then took another one from the trunk and returned it. Maybe there was a misunderstanding, but it was still upsetting to wonder why a charger worth a few hundred would be handled that way. NANA 2 was dirty and unsanitary, and didn’t match the description. I found the staff and owner’s attitude unprofessional and felt they were being dishonest.

We had a terrible stay, and I’d tell people to avoid booking here. The rooms were covered in mold, which made me feel uncomfortable and worried about my health. Then, early in the morning, loud karaoke woke us up, and the singing was badly off-key. The receptionist was a woman who didn’t speak English. That alone wasn’t a problem, but together with everything else it made for a miserable experience.

The location made getting around easy, with the Western quarter and the center nearby. A short walk also gets you to cute coffee shops like PianoLab and Hanok. The rooms were clean and decorated in white, and everything was fine.
