Perfume Homestay Huế

The staff were enthusiastic and lovely, the rooms are spacious, and the prices are reasonable. There's also a cute Hue beef noodle soup place across the street. It's around 2km from the city center, but definitely worth trying when you're in Hue!

The only drawback was the weak shower pressure. Otherwise, the homestay is really spacious, and the rooms are well soundproofed. The owners and staff are so kind and lovely, and they helped us out a lot 🥰🥰🥰

The room itself was spacious, and the Hue staff had gentle voices, but the stay was a mess. On my last day I found a towel stained like dried blood, with thick false eyelashes stuck to it. I can’t see how it had been washed or changed for a new guest. The room also had mosquitoes all night, and the racket I borrowed did nothing. I kept scratching. Sound carried straight through the walls, too, so I could hear the people next door talking and doing things. The shower sprayed across the bathroom from a head mounted too high, which left me having to stand beside the toilet to wash. Cleaning was another problem. I asked reception to change the trash bag on the first day and they did. The next day they said yes but ignored it. I left the bag outside my door overnight, but it was still there the following day, so I brought it in to collect the rubbish. Nothing was cleaned or changed after that either, and the trash stayed there until I left. The Wi-Fi was so weak it was a real problem for me working online. Staff said the first-floor cafe Wi-Fi was being used, while the upstairs connection was broken, and promised someone would fix it the next day. Nothing changed and they never brought it up again. The outlet was broken when I checked in, so I had to go downstairs to borrow another one. Renting a scooter cost 150k VND a day, but both times I rented one it had only enough gas to reach a station. Staff said guests had to fill it themselves. The receptionists seemed to work shifts, but I could rarely find anyone downstairs or get an answer when I called. One morning I wanted to reach the Imperial Citadel early, before the sun got strong, but couldn’t find anyone. I waited for a receptionist to leave, then waited again for a rental scooter. By the time I got one the sun was already high, and my elderly mother had been sitting there complaining.

It was easy to relax here, with a quiet, pleasant feel and lots of lovely spots for photos. My room was tidy, clean, and smelled nice, and the staff were so enthusiastic and kind. The location was convenient, too. It felt welcoming and homey, and I’d happily come back to Hue and stay here again if I get the chance. 😍
