Grand Mercure Hanoi

The balcony was one of our favorite parts of the stay, a great place for morning coffee while watching Hanoi's busy streets below. The rooftop pool looks out over the skyline, and the bar has a fantastic atmosphere. The location puts you right in the middle of the action. Inside, the rooms were far beyond what we expected, with a high-end feel and an amazing bathroom. Staff were attentive and helpful, quickly sorting out any issues and clearly wanting guests to have a good stay. We had an unforgettable time at Grand Mercure Hanoi and would highly recommend it.

The club lounge is a standout, with five-star ambience, offerings, and service. The hotel sits in Hanoi's financial government area, so getting to the main tourist spots takes a bit of a walk, but the stroll is fascinating despite the constant traffic. GRAB is the local travel app, reliable, safe, inexpensive, and easy to find. Local rides typically cost between £0.75p and £2.50. During the roughly three days of Lunar New Year, though, many locals leave town, much as Westerners head home at Christmas. The hotel is well equipped for most needs. I'd recommend the club, especially for people who drink, since enjoying its full offer can save quite a bit compared with going out.

The staff were friendly, accommodating, easy to communicate with, and made sure our needs were met. The Grand Mercure Hanoi is centrally placed near landmarks, malls, shops, and markets, so getting around is convenient. Rooms were tastefully decorated and comfortable after a hard day's work, with daily cleaning and tea and coffee replenished. Our sessions ran smoothly in the spacious, well-equipped function halls, which are designed with sophistication. The lunch buffet was consistently good, though it could use more variety now and then.

The hotel is new and attractive, and the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful when I checked in for room 709. Thanks especially to Mr. Hồ Xuân Sơn from security. I was puzzled when I came back from a walk at about 11:00 PM on February 27, 2026, and found the large red front doors shut. The guard outside didn't open them, and nobody inside came to assist, so I had to open them myself. I'm not sure whether they stop offering door service at that time.
