Sahi Homestay Retreat - Hostel

The architecture is lovely, and there’s lots of natural daylight. The service was really supportive. A relaxing place to stay on a Huế trip, highly recommend.

Sahi Homestay Retreat gave us a peaceful, minimalist stay with very welcoming staff. The clean rooms have a simple, no-frills look with minimal colors, and ours was well ventilated. We especially liked the garden shower, which blends indoor and outdoor space. On our second night, they thoughtfully replaced all the bedding, including the duvet and cover. It’s tucked down an alley about 1.5 km, or a 10-minute ride, from the city center. With just three rooms, a four-bed dorm, and the owner’s unit, the place feels private and intimate. The main drawback was noise from nearby karaoke, which carried on each night until 10:30 pm. Neighborhood music started early, around 5:30 am. Light sleepers might have a hard time with that. Otherwise, it’s a lovely place to unwind, with great hospitality.

As architects, we were struck by how thoughtfully materials were used in every detail, and by the fact that the architect lives and works on site. The leafy courtyard house makes a serene break from busy Hue and a great base for exploring. We had an amazing stay at Sahi and enjoyed every moment. I’d suggest taking your time at the homestay during the day and having their excellent coffee in the shade by the pool. We really hope to return.

The architectural space at Sahi is beautiful and carefully considered. We had a lovely stay, thanks to the staff who looked after us so kindly and attentively while we were in Huế. We’ll definitely come back ❤️
