Thong Do Hotel

The rooms were clean and very good, and you can get breakfast as a buffet or order from the menu. The hotel sits beside a busy, noisy highway, with a cement factory across the road. It's a 10-minute drive to the city center and 20 minutes to the railway station.

Please note that the hotel is in an industrial area far from town, beside a busy road with lots of trucks. We booked because it had a pool, since it was 44 degrees outside and we'd just ridden here from Ninh Binh. But the pool was empty and out of service when we arrived. Reception understood and agreed to cancel the booking and refund us. Later, though, when Agoda contacted the hotel, they refused to cancel and refund despite the evidence of what reception had said. Amenities shouldn't be listed when they're unavailable, and the hotel should honor a refund it has agreed to.

The breakfast buffet had a great selection and was really delicious, and the staff were polite and very helpful. Our room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and the price felt fair. We had a great night and would stay here again.

If you're travelling by car, I don't think there's a better choice. The price is very reasonable compared with places in Vinh city. Room service was brilliant, the employees were gentle, friendly, and super nice, and breakfast was good.
