Honba Lagi Beach Resort

I rarely leave reviews, but our family had a pretty bad holiday here and I want the resort to know what wasn't working. I understand that a place with lots of trees and plants will have insects, and that small animals hide beneath them. Still, there were too many bugs for me, including cockroaches and little flying insects I couldn't identify. One stung my neck while I was showering. We also struggled to find somewhere for our family to sit together, talk, and eat the food we'd brought. I've never seen a resort charge for bringing outside food in when you order there, but this one did. We had already ordered two dishes and a case of beer, with a bill close to 200 USD. At 9 p.m. they turned off all the lights in that area except the one over our spot. With all the surrounding trees and mosquitoes, the space needed to be well lit. That service left us very dissatisfied, and we won't return. The resort is large and has two cafes with menus offering all kinds of drinks, but when we wanted to sit and enjoy something, neither had staff at first. Eventually one cafe had a single employee serving, but she didn't know the drinks on the menu. When we ordered, she said everything listed was unavailable except soft drinks and coconut water. We were surprised, but sympathized and ordered anyway. A resort is supposed to have places where guests can relax with family in the morning or evening.

We had such a relaxing time here together. The place was very clean, and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. My partner and I had an amazing time, and we'll definitely come back.

We left feeling satisfied and wanting to come back. It's a lovely place to reconnect with friends and family, with yoga, films to watch together, and swimming in the sea or the saltwater pool. The staff were friendly and hospitable, and the buffet was delicious. The room was spacious for four guests. Couples can have a private, romantic garden or sea view. It also felt like a place focused on sustainable tourism. Highly recommended!

The outside looks quite nice, and the food was pretty good. But cleaning service was poor, the pool wasn't very clean, and there weren't enough amenities in the rooms. Most dishes came with lots of vegetables, which made them feel no different from vegetarian food.
