The staff were helpful, and I'd stay here again. Our booking included breakfast, served in a huge dining area. There wasn't much choice, but the black coffee was strong, the kitchen lady made good egg dishes, and the pork congee, or rice soup, was very good. Our room was on the 8th floor, looking out over the red river & china. It was large, with a 3 m long wardrobe, a big TV, a safe, a bar fridge and two cool chairs to relax in. The bathroom was huge, almost the size of some motel rooms, with a large bath tub and plenty of hot water that came through quickly. The beds were firm but comfortable, and the central air-conditioning worked well and was quiet. The room was very quiet too. The carpet was worn with age. I'm not sure, but the power points seemed to be Australian standard. This motel must have been the number 1 place to stay in town when it was built. I’d just booked in when I first wrote this, so this is my update after staying.

The price was reasonable, but breakfast wasn't included. Hot water took a while too, as I had to let the cold water run for about 5 minutes first.
