A great hotel in Ly Son, and they even have Netflix.

On my first trip to Ly Son Island, the fresh air, friendly locals, and great food all made it even better than I expected. Mr. Hung and Gia Thinh Hotel were a memorable part of the visit, too. It's almost in the center, so getting around to Ly Son's popular check-in spots was easy. If you go to Xom Cong, try the fish cake spring rolls at Ms. Lanh’s place. I loved the food, and she was warm and welcoming.

The owner was cheerful, gentle, and quick to help with anything. The hotel shares a map of attractions, gives advice on where to go and when, and can arrange train tickets. It also sells Ly Son garlic at a reasonable price. I didn't buy any there, but the market price I asked about was higher. There are motorbikes for rent and laundry service, and the lady hand-washed my white clothes very carefully. When we booked train tickets, the hotel arranged a free seven-seat pickup and drop-off. I think one trip normally costs 60k. Out front, there's a cool yard under a trellis where you can sit and have a drink in the evening. There's parking and a separate kitchen area beside it, with tables and chairs available for big group meals, more than 10 tables. The hotel is on a convenient route to attractions, down a small road by vegetable and garlic gardens. The mountain view made it quiet enough to rest. WiFi was quite strong, and guests get slippers to wear inside, which kept the place clean. The room had basic furnishings and all the listed essentials: toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, very hot water, a hair dryer, internet TV, a fan, A/C, and a refrigerator. The furniture was a bit old, the bathroom door lock was rusty, and the room door needed a hard push to lock. There's no elevator. Arrival date: 08/23/2025.
