Mai Chau Sunset Boutique Hotel

There’s a small pool, and you can rent motorbikes at the hotel. The restaurant serves good quality breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our room looked out over a small rice field, and it’s a good hotel.

We booked two nights, but the room we got didn’t match what we’d reserved. They said all the rooms were the same, even though ours had a hole in the bathroom wall where bugs and mosquitoes could get in. When we asked to move, the replacement was worse, unclean, and smelly. The rooms also didn’t look like the photos, so we decided to stay elsewhere. Despite the booking saying free cancellation, we were told to pay 500k. The manager then called and threatened to contact the police if we didn’t pay. In the end, we stayed one night because we felt forced to. I’d never stay here again. The pictures don’t match the rooms, and it’s not worth the money.

It’s a quiet spot away from the main attractions, with a lovely room, comfortable beds, and very nice staff. Breakfast was excellent. They arranged a motorbike rental and bus tickets to Ninh Bính for us, and the limousine bus picked us up right at the hotel. We recommend staying here.

The free bikes are handy for exploring the mostly flat roads through the rice paddies, with gorgeous mountains in the background. Our room was big and clean, with good air-conditioning, a strong hot shower, fast internet, and stunning views. It’s not cheap, and the entrance to the rooms is a little dark. Breakfast was good too, especially the banana cakes.
