Cuu Long Hotel My Tho

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the rates are reasonable. The air conditioning wasn’t great, though: it was a bit noisy and slow to cool. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic, and the security guards were especially helpful. The hotel sits right on the riverbank in the heart of My Tho, so many rooms have stunning river views. There’s parking next to the hotel and across from it. You can easily walk to the riverbank and nearby attractions, which is convenient for tourists.

The location is convenient for the boat tour, and the bed was nice and firm. Breakfast had a good selection. But I was extremely disappointed to find the rooftop bar closed for renovations, especially since nobody told us before we booked a month earlier. The hotel had recently been renovated, but the work seemed selective and short on quality control. The room paint and lighting were good, while the bathroom was badly neglected. The bassinet was cracked, with a cover coat repair that hid sharp edges. Water pressure was slow, the grout was dirty and moldy, and the bathroom didn’t seem properly sanitised. The shower door was a large glass slab, and its hinges didn’t hold it properly against being pulled when it should only be pushed. It swung outward, and the glass felt like it might crack. The shower tiles were not water tiles, making the floor extremely slippery. That evening we raised the issues and asked to change rooms or we’d change hotels. Later that night, we were shown other rooms with the same renovation problems. Reception staff’s lack of English also left me unimpressed. One receptionist, with full body tattoos running down the arms to the hands, seemed a bit scary and intimidating. The uniform didn’t cover them enough, and it struck me as unprofessional and not an inviting look for a luxury hotel. At checkout the next day, a new receptionist offered an upgrade, but it was too late: we’d packed, and the alternatives we saw the night before were no good. I said I’d return in a few days to take up the offer and see if they could repair the bad experience and restore my confidence in staying at one of My Tho’s highly recommended hotels. A few days later, I followed up in person with the receptionist who’d offered the upgrade. I asked what they’d offer to make things right for a 9 night stay. They offered a generic 10% discount, nothing above and beyond the normal offer.

Lovely place to stay, with wonderful river views from the very clean rooms. The staff are all super nice and open the door for you. Great breakfast, and a super great cook.

A big, standard business hotel, and it was very nice. The desk staff spoke some English and were very helpful. The breakfast buffet was great.
