The beds were a normal kind of hard, not rock solid like at many cheap hotels, and they left four bottles of water. The location is handy, close to banks, VinCom Center for food and shopping, and a Highlands Cafe two shops away. Those were the few good points. We got there around 9pm hoping to shower and sleep, but had to wait nearly half an hour while the receptionist finished her shower. The only person there was an older night guard, who could only pass along that explanation. Then we found red stains and blotches on both sides of the comforter, so there was no clean side to use. The air conditioner was missing its swing panel and blew straight at me all night. I tried sleeping without the comforter but couldn’t, and I was too exhausted to look for another place. We left promptly at 7am. This didn’t feel like a hotel with Western-style customer service. It felt like a horror movie motel where the lone staff member doesn’t care about you. For a little more, Cuu Long Hotel nearby is much, much better.

The location is very central, near restaurants, coffee shops and shopping plazas. Rear-facing rooms avoid traffic noise, and the air conditioning was quiet enough to sleep. The sheets were clean, the mattress firm, and the larger room had nice furniture, three chairs, a dressing table, a large wardrobe, and reasonable lighting. There was only one bedside table and one spot for power outlets. The shower was a body spray at about body height, with warm rather than hot water. The light sleeping cover was thin. Room upkeep needs work: wallpaper peeling, cobwebs and spiders, uncapped floor tiles, and the elevator needs cleaning. The teapot was uncleaned. There was no bottled water in the room, and corridor noise carried inside. A bugle sounded at 2000hr and 0600. The room did have a quality bar fridge, big kettle, cups, phone, TV, dress mirror, coat hangers and a coat rack. Reception is at the front, and payment is on departure. They do not take credit cards. Bicycle parking is underneath.

I’ve stayed here a few times over the year, at least 30 days a year. The staff are always friendly and the location is great. Rooms are okay, though some furniture needs repair, especially the smelly bathroom. Still, it’s a good base for exploring My Tho city.

It’s a 2-star hotel right in central My Tho city, Tien Giang province. The location is the main plus. Furniture is basic and pretty old, and the receptionist and guard were okay. No other services are included.
