Amber Hotel

The location was the hotel’s biggest plus. It’s right in the city centre, with everything close by, and the beach is under a five-minute walk, handy for sunrise or sunset. My 17th-floor room was peaceful despite the central setting, the bed was very comfortable, and the Smart TV made it easy to watch YouTube, dramas, and movies. When I reported drainage problems in the shower and toilet, staff responded right away to fix them. The room looks nice at first, but upkeep needs attention. The shower baseboards were damaged and dusty, and there were streaks on the mirrors and windows. The sheets and towels were changed every day, but some sheets had old stains, though they were clean, and some towels were torn or had holes. The laundry didn’t smell fresh. Because of my allergies, I had to keep guiding housekeeping and checking areas myself to make sure they’d been cleaned properly. Staff were friendly and smiled, but spoke almost no English, so every interaction needed Google Translate and simple requests became a hassle. Sleeping past 10am was hard too: even without a Do Not Disturb sign, the cleaners knocked loudly and repeatedly instead of using the doorbell. Service felt hollow. Someone helped with my bag at check-in, then I was left to find the 17th floor alone, with no explanation of the room or facilities. At checkout they took my card without asking about my stay, and I had to carry my heavy luggage down to the wrap myself. The pool on the 19th floor was a letdown, small, poorly maintained, and uninviting, with no staff there. The hotel has a lot of potential, but feels neglected. It’s good value because of the prime location. If it were anywhere else, the maintenance and service issues would have made my rating much lower.

Our room at Amber Hotel had a beautiful view of both the beach and mountains. Everything looked brand new, from the furnishings to the amenities, and the bright, modern layout felt well thought out and uncluttered. The hotel was recently renovated and exceptionally clean, and the staff were attentive and genuinely helpful. We’d absolutely stay here again.

amber looks even better in person than in the photos. I loved the modern design and the huge windows. There are only a few rooms per floor, so it’s very quiet and easy to sleep. The staff were so kind, and even made me a fruit platter for new year’s.
