Aries Hotel

The location is good, with lots of food nearby and the beach about 1k away, but I wouldn't stay again. The rooms are quite big and sort of clean, though the beds are hard and there’s no soundproofing, so it’s super noisy. The pool was green, and I had to ask for it to be cleaned. Most of the staff made us feel like an inconvenience, though one lovely cleaning lady was an exception. There are lots of better options in Nha Trang.

I was glad to check out. We’d booked two rooms for four nights, but they clearly hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guests. There was hair all over the bathroom floor, coffee and sugar on tables and other surfaces, and, worst of all, multiple pubic hairs on all the bedding. When cleaners showed up, they laughed as if it were a joke. Management’s attitude was basically, “if you're not happy, you can check out.” We left after one night. I’ve travelled all over the world, and this was the worst hotel I’ve ever had the displeasure of staying in. Before COVID, when they were desperate for customers, I pointed out, they didn’t treat guests this way. Now that they’re a bit busy, they’ve gone back to their usual arrogant attitude. This was a short break before the kids went back to school. We had our main holiday in Thailand, where they appreciated what we were providing. Vietnam needs to wake up and realize that, if it wants any chance of attracting foreign visitors, staff need training in cleanliness and how they treat guests. Absolute rubbish for any kind of vacation.

The soundproofing is nonexistent, so you hear everything from the halls, and the breakfast buffet needs more options. The service was the worst I’ve experienced: we had to change rooms twice, reception staff were rude, and communication was a joke. They even cancelled my reservation on booking in the middle of the stay without explaining why. When we asked for help, they spoke Vietnamese to each other, laughed, and ignored us.

I booked a room so I could rest before my 1am flight. In a rush to check out for the airport, I was told I had to pay 60,000VND for three bottles of water. I asked to pay by card, but the staff member said it had to be cash. When I said I had none, a card machine suddenly appeared. After leaving, I checked the reservation and saw that basic bottled water was included, so I felt cheated. The bathroom also drained poorly, and the amenities were trash.
