My sixth-floor single room had a balcony with partial views of the bay and the new apartment and hotel buildings going up, some as tall as 30 stories. It was roomy and very clean, with bright white sheets and pillowcases, plus hot water, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a fan, and a fridge. There’s a lift if you don’t fancy the stairs in the summer heat, around 33 degrees. The hotel sits down a narrow side street, so it’s peaceful. The small sandy beach is about 400 metres away, with good seafood restaurants along the waterfront. There’s also a Vinmart nearby for small grocery needs. The staff were welcoming, spoke English well enough to help guests who don’t speak Vietnamese, and were happy to offer assistance or local information. It felt almost like a home away from home.

The beds were really hard and uncomfortable, and the staff were extremely unhelpful. After checkout, we left our backpack in the lobby briefly, then were told we’d have to pay 100,000 Dong to change clothes at the hotel. Don’t stay here if you need to return after checking out. We couldn’t check in early, and the staff didn’t speak English, so we had to use Google Translate. They also wanted to hold on to our passports instead of making copies. The location was inconvenient for us since most activities seem to be in Downtown Nha Thrang.

The nearby beach was disappointing too, usually crowded and dirty. The hotel itself is pretty old, and the owner was grumpy. We stayed a couple of times and kept wondering why we hadn't found somewhere else in the city. For a cheap hotel, it doesn't feel worth it: things have been going downhill for years with no improvements. I won't be staying at Dong Hai hotel again.

The old lady was very impolite, and although I paid before staying, her behavior was terrible. It seemed like she was trying to kick me out. The housekeeper didn't do a good job either. The other comments are right.

A nice, quiet hotel with clean, fairly large rooms. It’s close to the beach, and every room has a shared balcony.
