King Town Grand Hotel & Wedding Center

The only real plus was the very friendly staff. The hotel itself was shabby, with awful-looking corridors and a restaurant, and the thin windows let in so much street noise that sleeping was impossible. There's no beach nearby either, and it takes 15-20 minutes to walk to one. Even the room's shoehorn and other things were counted and listed, with an extra charge if anything went missing. I don't recommend it. We ended up having to move to another hotel, even though that hotel wouldn't refund us.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this place really disappointed me. The staff were okay, at least. Room 1103, or maybe every room ending in 03, had a strange, impractical layout, with lights and outlets in awkward places. The furniture was low quality and poorly maintained. Wi-Fi was painfully slow even late at night or early in the morning. I chose it to save about 15%, and it wasn't worth it. Better hotels nearby cost just a little more, so this wasn't good value. I don't think it deserves four stars, maybe 2.5 or 3. Also, it seems like there are lots of seeders reviewing it. Shady business. DYOR.

The sea-view suites are amazing and very comfortable, and the housekeepers are awesome. The value is good, and the egg station chefs are great. But the breakfast buffet had little choice and wasn't great quality. The aircon swung between too strong and too weak, and reception staff were asleep at midnight with the ringer switched off. The hallway carpets were horribly stained, and the pool was not clean at all, with visibility only about 2 meters.

At checkout, they tried to charge someone in our group for a cracked glass. In my room, they wanted to charge me for a towel they said was too dirty. I argued that towels are for wiping things and should be washed when dirty. After going back and forth, they dropped the fee. The hotel's expectation seems to be that guests inspect everything as soon as they arrive and immediately report anything broken or not working. A few rooms in our group weren't serviced, and nobody gave us a good explanation. They shrugged it off and brought us some soap. They also told us to put valuables in the room safe, but it wasn't bolted down. For a four-star vacation-style hotel, the constant nickel-and-diming is absurd. I've never stayed somewhere that charged for so many things.
