Hon Tam Resort (formerly MerPerle Hon Tam Resort)

The massage was so relaxing, and the face massage felt especially comfortable. I tried the “pamper yourself” package at Hon Tam resort in Nha Trang for my first visit. It costs 1,050,000 vnd ($54 CAD) for 90 minutes, with 60 minutes of full-body massage using specialized oil and 30 minutes of pure nature facial. I think it's a great deal for a first timer, and the packages are reasonably priced, pretty cheap. The staff greeted me right away and were friendly, accommodating, and professional. They spoke in a calm, patient voice and offered me delicious herbal tea while I waited. The place was luxurious, clean, quiet, and not crowded. There's a locker room with a bath station where you can rinse off after the massage if you want. I'd recommend trying it if you get the chance while visiting in Viet Nam.

The ferry terminal arrival gave a strong first impression of luxury, and the breakfast buffet was good. The spa massage was excellent too. Still, for the price, our January 2026 stay at Hon Tam Resort was disappointing and didn't match the luxury advertised. We had a booking for five adults and two children, confirmed several times months ahead, but the villa was prepared for only six people. Even with written confirmations, we had to pay extra so everyone could have their own bed. The villa looked appealing but wasn't set up for our group: there were just six dining chairs, no kitchenware despite the advertised kitchen, and little usable outdoor space. It had a private pool, outdoor area, and balconies, but only two sun loungers, set away from the pool. There was no outdoor table or chairs and no balcony seating, so we couldn't relax together or comfortably watch the children swim. Food choices were very limited. We expected multiple restaurants, but during our stay there seemed to be just one main place to eat. The paid buffet dinner looked nice, though the food was mediocre and didn't feel luxurious. The five-star standard also wasn't reflected in the cleanliness of the linen and upholstery. Water pressure stayed low, and shower temperatures kept changing. I hope this helps other travellers make an informed decision.

That villa BBQ was a highlight for our family: the seafood tasted incredibly fresh, the servings were generous, and the staff set everything up beautifully. They were so sweet and attentive, too. 10/10 for that meal. We had a memorable, relaxing getaway at Hon Tam, surrounded by a lovely atmosphere. The staff made us feel looked after the whole time, always greeting us with warm smiles. Their service gets 10/10 from us. 😊 We’d definitely recommend trying the BBQ at the villa. 🌴✨🍤🔥💯

The island was wonderfully peaceful, with a clean, well-kept beach, and the staff’s daily smiles always lifted my mood. The spa massages and service were excellent, so I still recommend giving them a try. I did have a problem with the discount. I’d mentioned the resident discount when I first asked, but was brushed off, and people who didn’t book the Couple’s Package weren’t given the discount either. Keep in mind that you have a 30% discount, and check the bill when you check out. The Couple’s Package includes the same things as the fold-out brochure, but costs a different amount, and booking it means you can’t get the resident discount. I’d choose individual services from the brochure instead. Kieu(Hon Tam SPA) was really nice and friendly. She eagerly helped sort out the discount issue, and the hotel staff eventually arranged a small refund. I’m grateful they tried to resolve it. Thanks, Kieu, you really made my day. The hotel staff’s helpful attitude was appreciated, even though the spa discount issue was disappointing. I’d still highly recommend the resort.
