I've stayed at 17 hotels around Ho Chi Minh, Vung Tau, and Nha Trang over the last three weeks, all but one under $11 a night, and this was the worst. The sheets, pillow, and blanket felt as if they hadn't been washed in ages. The bed was so bad I'd rather have slept on a cot. The TV worked, but had a huge line across it halfway up from the bottom. The power went out for two hours, and I wasn't going to walk down seven flights just to sit in a hot room. The Japanese hotel next door costs the same or a couple of dollars more and is light years better. I'll leave photos so people can see the difference. Its room was very clean, the towels smelled like Holiday Inn, and the 50-inch TV actually worked. It had Russian, French, outdoor network, and Vietnamese channels, which is rare in Vietnam, where most hotels don't subscribe to cable. Water here barely got hot, unlike next door, where it gets steaming hot. To make things worse, the maid knocked on my door and asked me to leave them a five-star Google review. I'd bet most reviews here are fake. Also, the barber outside is junk. Don't go to him.

Clean enough and in a good spot. It was okay, but prices were rising, so unfortunately we had to move to another hotel.

We got a spacious, clean room on the 9th floor. The quality was decent during this period of recovery after Covid. The hotel is in the city's "backpacking corner," close to just about everything: street food, restaurants, massage parlors, malls, and the beach. A memorable stay.
