Rigel Hotel

I only went to reception about the noise from upstairs, which was so disruptive I couldn't keep working. The room itself was fine, and I appreciated that the hotel refunded the unused nights and apologized on the staff member's behalf. But the way my complaint was handled felt disrespectful and dismissive. One receptionist laughed while another was explaining things, then denied it when I asked. Later, my concern was brushed off as a “Google Translate misunderstanding.” The same staff member spoke into Google Translate in Vietnamese while I typed, because I thought ChatGPT was more accurate. Through Google Translate in Korean, she told me, “I know you are angry because of the room price.” I had never brought up the price; I was concerned about the noise and the staff's behavior. It seemed to me that she was making it look like I was upset about the price instead of addressing what I actually said. She mocked me at first, then twice repeated that “Google Translate often causes misunderstandings.” It felt like a double standard, almost a “magic word” to divert attention, and I still don't understand how that happened.

The location was great, the place was clean, and the rooms were spacious. The food was good to decent, and the staff were friendly. For the price, I couldn't ask for much more. Thanks to everyone at Rigel Hotel for the hospitality and excellent service. I hope I can visit again. Com on.

The staff were wonderful, which was the hotel's real strength. I also enjoyed the ample breakfast buffet: the food was well prepared and flavorful, though the items I picked weren't kept hot enough in the trays. The hotel feels dated, and there are newer places nearby for only a little more. The air con struggled to cool the room, but that worked out for me because my girlfriend had to sleep naked to cope with the warmth. There's no parking lot, so cars and scooters have to park outside on the sidewalk.

The room was an 8/10 for me, breakfast 6/10, and the pool 5/10 since it looks much larger in the photos. Housekeeping gets 4/10 because they never changed the linens. I honestly don't see why this is rated four stars. In my opinion, it deserves three at most.
