The upkeep felt neglected, which made the stay uncomfortable. In the room, cleanliness was poor, the bed wasn’t comfortable, and several amenities didn’t work properly. I expected much better quality and service for what I paid. My stay at Happy Light Hotel, Vietnam was very disappointing, and I wouldn’t return.

Motorcyclists, watch out. The parking attendant asked me, as a foreigner, for money as a New Year greeting. When I refused, he got rough with me. Why should I have to bribe someone just to park at a hotel?

For the under £8 I paid, this was easily the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in. Maybe the bad ratings come from people expecting something different, so without the discount it might not feel worth it.

The room was spacious and clean, and the shower was great. For the price, it’s a good hotel. The breakfast wasn’t very good, though, and unfortunately the pool was dirty.

You’re right by the night market and people’s park, where there are lots of things to rent, like bikes, roller skates and mini cars. I loved the location and the place itself.
