Tam Coc Garden Homestay

The limestone and rice field views were right outside, and we got to enjoy them the whole time. Our first-floor room faced the pool and limestone scenery, so each morning felt magical. The Main Street in Tam Coc was only a couple of minutes away on foot, and Grab Bikes and Cars were easy to find for going farther. We never waited more than two minutes for a driver. Sam gave us useful tips on arrival about the main sights and how to visit efficiently, and both women we met at reception were lovely and helpful. The room and beds were very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean too, though outdated and could use improvement. For anyone wanting limestone views all day while visiting Tam Coc/Ninh Binh, Windy Fields is a great place to stay.

The scenery here is incredible, and breakfast in the morning was lovely. This peaceful little place is about a 10-15 minute bike ride from Tam coc. It was my favorite stay of my month in Vietnam. They had free bikes available any time of day, and every staff member was really helpful and happy to assist. When we checked out, they gave us bottled water for the taxi ride to our next stop.

The quiet setting just outside town was lovely, and we really appreciated being allowed a late checkout. There’s good food and drinks available at the hotel, and you can borrow a bike or rent a scooter to get into town. The scooter was very inexpensive, but the bikes were in rough shape. We tried three or four before finding one that worked. Our arrival was a nice surprise: our bus couldn’t reach the hotel, so the owner came to collect us on her scooter. There was some confusion over our room because neighbors were doing work, and we weren’t happy with the alternative we were first given. They moved us to another room the following night, which sorted it out. The laundry was disappointing, though. Two items came back stained beyond repair. The place could use a bit more attention to detail, even though the location is peaceful and pleasant.

You can walk or bike to the main streets for food and things to do, then return to a quiet spot overlooking the rice paddies. The mountain views are beautiful, and the rooms and service were lovely. I’d definitely come back.
