Quyet Thang Hotel & Beach

The regular, inexpensive bus to Nha Trang was the best part of our stay. Everything else was a letdown. We booked a “deluxe” room, but the interior was old, broken, and terribly dirty, and the whole hotel felt rundown. The surrounding fields were full of burnt rubbish, and there wasn’t much going on in the area; after 19:00, we hardly saw anyone. The beach has some potential, but the photos give the wrong impression. The hotel doesn’t own any beach area, and if you try to use the very run-down benches, unfriendly people quickly ask you to pay. The beach setup is basically a waiting room with plastic chairs, not really a restaurant. We also found it frustrating to pay for sitting on the beach. This was easily the worst stop on our trip through Vietnam. Stay away.

For the price, it’s a fair hotel with large, bright rooms and air conditioning. The beach is beautiful and only a short walk away, as is the restaurant where the included breakfast is served. The place is a bit run-down and could be cleaner. It’s also a shame that the deck chairs cost extra when they’re affiliated with the hotel.

Absolutely disgusting. This place was falsely advertised as a beach hotel, but it isn’t on the beach. The restaurant is a five-minute walk away, and they still charge you to sit on the sand, even outside their restaurant. They say 90% of the beach is private, leaving a 10-by-10-meter patch for everyone else, with over 100 people packed in. Staff were very unhelpful, and some were rude. It was hard to find anyone at reception, where staff seemed to be sleeping in a room. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so getting to an ATM, a big shop, or transport means paying for a taxi or walking an hour. Da Nang town is a two-hour taxi ride. The address they gave us was wrong, and when we checked it on Google, it led to the nicest resort on the beach, which is where we thought we’d booked.

At sunrise and sunset, you pretty much have Doc Let beach to yourself. The restaurant on the beach charges a lot for small portions, though. The bed was too soft, there was no hot water, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable. It’s expensive for what you get.
