Charm Hon Rom Villas Resort

This small tropical resort is a peaceful, beautifully designed place to stay in Vietnam, with a much quieter feel than crowded hotels. It’s full of greenery and sunshine, and the airy layout feels private without being unwelcoming. The rooms are new, furnished with quality natural wood, and balance local character with modern comfort. I especially liked my room on the 3rd, top, floor, with all its natural light and fresh breeze. The views have an almost cinematic feel. It’s just a 1-minute walk from a long, wide beach that I found more pleasant for everyday visits than the beaches in Mui Ne. The couple who own the resort are lovely, hardworking, and hands on. They previously ran their own resort in Phu Quoc. I spoke briefly with the wife, who was subtle, attentive, and very focused on service. Their personal involvement adds a rare touch of care and charm. The dining menu is still being worked on and was said to be completed by this autumn. That wasn’t a problem for me, since I enjoyed exploring Phan Thiet’s varied food scene. Having stayed at many branded resorts and hotels around Asia, I think this place is one of the best I’ve found, and it’s great value too. For foreign travelers, the peaceful atmosphere, intuitive layout, and mix of Vietnam’s natural beauty with international standard comfort make it a good place to unwind, use as a base to explore by motorbike, car, or taxi, or settle in for a week of remote work, as I did.
