MiNhon Hotel Mui Ne

We’ve been here four nights and haven’t even left yet, but I already had to write about it. It’s become one of our favorite places in Vietnam during our months of traveling. The grounds are spotless, with lovely gardens and mature tropical trees, and the soft music and peaceful atmosphere make you feel at ease as soon as you arrive. The staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. They’re all hardworking, genuine, and wonderful. The owners must treat them well, because it really shows. There are two hotels side by side, and guests can use services like the pools at both. Between them they have three restaurants, all with great food and service, and you can order to your room or by the pool. They also offer free bicycles, games, filtered water, laundry, bug spray, coffee, tea, and lots more. It’s a quiet area, but the location is great, less than two minutes from the water, with restaurants, massage, and nail places close by. They can arrange motorbikes, tours, food, and travel, so you don’t need to plan it all yourself. It’s very affordable for what you get. MiNhon feels like a home away from home. I’m sleeping better than I do at home, thanks to the soft beds and good cotton sheets, not microfiber. The rooms are clean too. Ten stars for comfort and cleanliness! The receptionist on the morning shift was rude and impolite. We were also charged 40,000 VND for a banana with some peel missing and a piece of cake that looked partly eaten, even though we hadn’t ordered either. In Room 08, we found spiders and ants on the bed and had to switch rooms. Room 15 was worse, with more than 50 ants on the bed frame and floor. They got into my clothes and luggage too. At night I saw a gecko on the wall, and the toilet smelled bad, with flies coming out of the drains. I chose MiNhon Hotel because it was cheap, but the stay turned into a nightmare. There’s a reason for the low price. Don’t stay here.

The people in Muine are welcoming and down to earth. The staff were so kind with our two kids, always smiling as they passed. We left before breakfast, but one of the women offered to make breakfast for all four of us to take along. So lovely.

The little restaurant overlooks the pool, and it really gives the place a resort feel. The room was clean, with a good hot shower and water pressure, and staying here felt like a proper relaxing holiday. There were a lot of mosquitoes, though. I’d suggest the hotel spray the plants and shared areas regularly.
