Rang Garden Bungalow

We booked a room with a balcony and noticed a camera installed nearby. It had motion detection, so we could tell when it was actively recording and see the area it covered. Its range included the path to the bathroom, and the indicator light flashed whenever someone walked that way, which suggested our movements were being captured. We raised this at reception the next morning. The staff didn't speak enough English to resolve it properly and said the manager/owner was out of town. We asked to see the camera footage, but they refused, saying only the owner could access it. Back in our room, we saw the camera had been repositioned. I took photos to document what was happening and send to Booking, including photos showing the camera had moved. A little later, it was adjusted again to point even farther away from our windows, which I also documented. At reception, the staff showed us the live camera view and confirmed that it had been turned away from the window. But when we again asked for footage from the previous day, they said it couldn't be done because the camera supposedly didn't keep recordings that long. While we were trying to sort this out, the front desk staff repeatedly insisted that we pay for the room. That made us uncomfortable, given our serious privacy concerns. We're still worried about our privacy, especially since staff wouldn't give clear proof that no recordings were made or stored. The room also had issues: the bedsheets were dirty and the showerhead was broken. The pool was dirty too, with dust, sand and other things getting in and not being cleaned out.

The room was simple, with AC. The swimming pool was nice. We didn't have breakfast.

The pool and beach were beautiful, but this wasn't a good hotel stay. Our room's AC and fridge weren't working when we arrived, and the bathroom flooded. Breakfast was awful, served only from 7-9am, which felt too early. The portions were tiny, like a single egg that was badly undercooked. Restaurant staff weren't very friendly either. It was also very loud, especially in a balcony room near the lobby, where they played loud music early in the morning.

The pool water was quite warm, so swimming in the rain didn't feel cold. Our room was spacious and the air conditioning worked well. The restaurant was really poor. We ordered crab that was supposed to be fresh, but it tasted as if it had been preserved with chemicals. I'd give the venue four stars on its own, but the dinner food brings my rating down to one. Since there's no 2.5-star option, I'm giving it two stars.
