Carambola Bungalow

You can spend a quiet day by the clean river here, with shade, sunbeds, and a spot for swimming. It’s especially nice in this heat. Food can be ordered right by the water, and the prices are reasonable. The staff are welcoming even if you’re just visiting, so you can come for a meal, rent a towel, and relax. No karaoke or traffic noise either. Highly recommended.

I wouldn’t stay here again. We spent two nights in a bungalow with a mountain and river view, and I didn’t enjoy the visit. The price was okay, but not for the room we got. The walls and floor were dirty, and the bathroom was damp, had no window, rust and dirt, and only gave hot water at first. We waited a long time for it to warm up again. The light was tilted too. Noise was a big problem for sleeping. I could hear every sound from the neighboring huts, a family with kids, the church, and boats passing on their way to Phong Nha cave. It felt like the family was right inside our bungalow. Breakfast eggs were okay, but the coffee was undrinkable and the presentation wasn’t good. The mineral water left in the room smelled like tap water and was disgusting. After I posted this, the owner sent me very long messages. Her reply to this review also makes it seem to me that she invents her own version of events and doesn’t accept bad feedback. I wouldn’t recommend the place. I’ve attached some pictures.

The food was great, and the service hours were long enough to eat whenever we got hungry. Staff were kind and always smiling. It’s a wonderful place with a really relaxing atmosphere.

The manager was so kind and drove after us when we left our takeaway lunch behind. The rooms were great, and the service was wonderful.
