Hung Phat Bungalow

After a long day of travel, I arrived to find a beautiful bungalow with two spotless queen beds for my friend and me, then took a hot shower and slept wonderfully. The views were incredible, and the amenities were plentiful and easy to use. Over the next two days we had home-cooked breakfasts, rode bikes around town, and got 8kg of laundry washed and folded. He even picked a coconut for us to drink. The service was the first thing that stood out. I was meant to arrive at 1 am and he offered to pick me up. When the time changed at the last minute to 3 am, he still said no problem and came. For an inexpensive price, it felt like a little luxury. 10/10, I’d recommend it and come back.

We used Hung Phat Bungalow as a base for an Oxalis cave trip, and the host arranged an early breakfast for our early pickup so the morning was stress-free. He also sorted our coach transfer to Hue, came along to see us off, and made sure we boarded on time. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and full of local tips, including some great restaurants we’d never have found ourselves. Lotus was especially good. The setting is peaceful, with a lovely view from the room, yet the free bikes make it easy to reach the main town. Breakfast was always excellent and ready on time. We enjoyed cycling through nearby villages and taking in the scenery. Just keep in mind the bikes suit town and local restaurants better than longer countryside rides. A comfortable, well-run place, and we’d happily stay again.

My favorite part was the jungle trek, which I booked along with another tour based on the local attraction recommendations. Both went smoothly. Son was very kind and did his best to make guests comfortable, even driving into the city center to pick them up at any hour. I could also use a bicycle for free to get there. The bungalow was modest and compact but comfortable, clean, and had the basics I needed. The air conditioning worked well, and staff cleaned every morning. I slept well and enjoyed the adventurous feeling of staying there. I loved watching the sunrise from my little terrace.

The room was comfortable, and waking up to those incredible views made this a special place to stay. The host was genuinely kind and helpful. Our night bus arrived three hours early at 3 am, and he very kindly picked us up and let us check in then, even though our booking was for the following night. We had a great stay and highly recommend it.
