Ancarine Beach Resort

Getting around was easy: the hotel has bicycles and motorbikes, and the nearest restaurant area is about a 15-minute walk along a well-lit, straightforward route. The property is lovely, with lush greenery and a clean beach. We especially enjoyed the beachfront restaurant and its views. It was a peaceful stay away from the crowds, and everyone we met, from reception to housekeeping and the restaurant team, was welcoming and friendly.

We found the room clean and well cared for, and the air conditioning worked effectively. The resort was quiet and relaxing, and the private beach was kept clean too. One thing I’d like to see improved is enforcement of the beach smoking rules. Guests have ashtrays, but cigarette ends shouldn’t be left in the sand, and staff should also address how non-guests behave. It’s your hotel, and your employees keep it clean, so it’s okay to ask people to behave. Thanks for a comfortable, enjoyable stay.

We loved staying here, though dinner was a letdown. The menu has lots of choices, but the food’s flavor and quality weren’t very good. Breakfast, by contrast, was consistently good, with decent variety, and we enjoyed it each morning on the beachfront patio. The other disruption was a high-pitched, very loud animal alarm that spoiled the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. It went off at 6am and again in the afternoon, around 2pm - 5pm, sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes for an hour. The resort is a quiet, mid-size beachfront place with a great swimming and lounging beach, and it’s good value for couples, families, or small groups. It’s somewhat remote, though restaurants and shops are still walkable. Staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. Our cabin was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom, air conditioning, essential amenities, and a covered front porch shaded for most of the day with an ocean view. There were lots of beach chairs, many under the trees, and plenty of shallow water for people who prefer standing to swimming. Ong Lang is reachable on foot, by bike, motorbike, or taxi, and has restaurants, cafes, groceries, a pharmacy, tours, and more.

My sister and I meant to do some sightseeing, but we ended up spending several days enjoying the bungalow, pool, beach, and restaurant instead. Our place right by the beach had a rustic feel and was just right for us, clean and well maintained with everything we needed. We both had massages, some of the best we’ve had. The restaurant was quite good, and breakfast had plenty of variety. Be careful with uncooked vegetables if travel tends to upset your stomach. Hein and Dat made our evening service a delight. The staff were kind, provided water each day, and even helped us get some smaller dang currency when we were in a pinch. We’d definitely recommend it.
