Coco Island Retreat Phu Quoc

Our honeymoon at Coco Island Retreat Phu Quoc was a beautiful memory, and we'd definitely return. The rooms were thoughtfully designed, spotless, and really comfortable, and the food was delicious. You can feel the care that goes into the place. A big thank you to the whole team. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and attentive, and we felt looked after the entire time.

The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, and the hotel and restaurant reception teams are very friendly. The grounds staff work hard and are always smiling. Our room was nice, but the housekeeping fell short, especially for nearly £80 a night. Dead cockroaches were on the balcony when I arrived and were still there four days later. The bed was just pulled back instead of properly made, the teaspoons weren't clean, and the complimentary tea and coffee weren't replenished daily. Basic cleanliness hasn't been up to standard. I'm still here for four more days, and I sincerely hope these problems are dealt with and things improve for the rest of my stay.

The setting looks nice and the staff are friendly, but this hotel is in the middle of nowhere and I really can't recommend it. The hygiene was terrible. I found mouse droppings in the room, saw cockroaches and spiders, and fresh droppings appeared all over the balcony every morning. I never saw an actual mouse, but that repeated mess points to a serious rodent problem around the property. It also didn't feel safe for children. The crib was extremely low, so a child could climb out as soon as they stood up. Housekeeping seemed outsourced and only available for limited hours. They didn't change the sheets or bathrobes, just folded them and put them back. After my child soiled a sheet, the same dirty one was still on the bed after housekeeping came. I left a used bathrobe on the floor, and it was folded and reused. With cleanliness and safety problems like these, especially for families, I'd avoid this hotel.

For the price it was acceptable, though I expected a little more. The free pickup and drop-off were a nice extra, and the prices were reasonable. There were a couple of good dinner spots nearby, easy to reach on the complimentary bicycles, and the hotel also rents scooters. A 125cc scooter cost 200 VND per day. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly, with quite a bit of hair left in the shower by previous guests. We also couldn't swim in the ocean, which was disappointing.
