The pool was surprisingly good, but I wouldn’t return under any circumstances. I’d send an enemy here, since this hotel could ruin your holiday. The rooms were a travesty. Cheap mattresses and thin pillows left me with poor sleep and neck and back pain throughout the trip. The bathroom was disgusting: a single wet room where the shower soaked everything, especially the toilet, toilet paper, and counter. The whole place had the charm of a hospital psych ward, without any therapeutic or sedative benefits. Breakfast was grim: rubbery, insipid eggs, watery coffee, and meat so disgusting and tough I wouldn’t feed it to a dog. The fruit was delicious, as you’d expect in the tropics, but good luck getting any. Most of it was heaped onto the plates of various former Soviets, who seemed to think dragonfruit was worth its weight in gold. The guests’ behavior still brought dogs in a kennel to mind, despite the signs asking them to behave properly. Thinking of myself as an anthropologist made the breakfast fascinating material; as a guest, it was upsetting. On arrival, an employee checked us in without saying a word. I actually mused aloud that she might be mute, though I was wrong: when we asked questions, she managed a few weak affirmative grunts. A simple “Xin chào” would have been nice and given the impression, false as it might have been, that even one employee cared about customer service or guests’ experience. I’ve never stayed at a hotel so totally disinterested in its guests.

The stay was comfortable and pleasant. I spent a couple of days in Room No. 206. The room was clean and good, and the service was very nice. The morning receptionist was especially welcoming and helpful. There are a couple of things to improve: water collected in the bathroom during showers, so the drain needs unclogging. Breakfast could also have more variety, since the same food may get repetitive for people staying several days.

Everything went well, and the price was reasonable. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, there’s proper car parking instead of street parking, and my booking included complimentary breakfast. We couldn’t check in early because the rooms were full. Communication was difficult when we arrived after a tiring, long trip. Neither receptionist spoke English, so we had to rely on a translation app. I think at least the receptionist should know English. On the second day, the breakfast food wasn’t labeled properly, and we almost ate pork, which is against our religion. They should mark what contains chickn, pork, or beef, since not everyone eats everything. Nobody in the dining area understood English either, so I had to bring a staff member from reception to explain the dining situation.

The check-in process was a mess and disrupted my plans. I arrived at 12pm and was told to wait in the lobby until 2pm, even though the rooms were ready. At 2pm, four groups were trying to check in, and they asked everyone to wait until their name was called. That took about 45 min.

Aby greeted us right away with a smile and made us feel at home. The staff at this restaurant are so warm and welcoming!
