Lotus Home Corner & Rooftop

Our third floor room had some damaged flooring, and there was a leak coming from upstairs in the toilet. Xixi, the officer here, was pretty nice and gave us free drinks in the morning for both days we stayed. Everything else was fine. The air conditioner was cold, which I loved, and the internet was even better than at the other hotel we stayed in. You can see fireworks from the rooftop, though I didn't get a chance to go up there. I'd recommend the place.

The atmosphere was nice and the drinks were average, but the service was bad. Staff didn't seat customers, and let locals take seats first even when they arrived later. They gave locals the round tables and best spots, while we were put in a corner despite arriving before most of them.

The fireworks are great from here, probably better than watching them up close, and there's no entrance fee. But the service was poor. I asked for a table and was just told to sit anywhere. For a smart hotel bar, they didn't know what red wines they had when I asked, and they were out of canned Heineken. The food wasn't good either. I ordered beef in sauce with peppers, fries, and salad, but it was mostly chopped peppers and salad with just a few beef cubes. The menu says taxes and fees aren't included, but the bill showed only a number below the total, with no fee breakdown. I know tax is 8%, but I couldn't tell if the rest was tips or a fee for the view. They don't accept card payments, either. There may be no entrance charge, but it's built into the prices.

The rooftop view is lovely, but getting up there costs 100k, and a beer is another 100k. I didn't think it was worth that. When I sat at a table, staff came over 15 minutes later and told me a group had booked it, though there was no sign. It felt like solo travelers matter less than larger groups. There are better sunset spots :)
