Rocks Beach Boutique Phu Quoc

The resort grounds are gorgeous, and our sea bungalow looked just like the photos. The bathroom was huge, with a great digital shower. The tall waiter, I think his name is “New”, was wonderful. The restaurant has plenty of choice at reasonable prices and stays open until 9:30. Food delivery may also be possible. The location is remote, with little nearby, but that’s clear on the map before booking and is part of its appeal. It’s about a 30-minute drive to duong duong and 20 minutes to the airport. The bungalow was a rough place to sleep on windy nights. There’s a gap around the front door even when it’s locked, and it doesn’t block sound, so the noise and shaking kept us up. Some wind-damaged things around the resort were left lying around for hours, which felt a bit unsafe. The staff seemed very relaxed about it. The wooden path to the bungalows has rotting, broken, and missing slats, and there are other damaged bits of wood around that need varnishing. It shouldn’t take much to fix. Meanwhile, there was noisy maintenance around the pool, and guests weren’t warned ahead of time, as I’d expect at a hotel. There weren’t enough pool loungers, and a few broken ones were still left out. The water was dirty, as some reviews mentioned. I guess that may not be the hotel’s fault and it may have changed since the photos, but they should net out the clumps of rubbish. We’d come from the other side of the island, where the water was clear and beautiful, so it was disappointing. I’d probably return for the lovely grounds, but I’d avoid the bungalows unless they’re improved to handle weather and noise better.

We stayed six nights at Rocks Beach Resort after travelling around Vietnam, and the quiet was just what we needed after a busy trip. There isn’t much to do on this side of the island, but that suited us. You can rent a bike for a good price and explore. The food was tasty, from breakfast through lunch and dinner, and the staff were warm and helpful. The garden and pools were looked after daily. Renovations were happening during our visit, but the place still felt peaceful, and the team took our feedback seriously. The rooms are quite noisy, which is a downside. A spa is being built, and the resort has plenty of potential to keep growing into an even lovelier place.

It’s in a quiet spot on the shore, a little away from the main city, with few food choices or shops nearby. We stayed in both a water villa and a regular room. From the water villa there’s direct access to the sea, where the water is about 1 meter deep at low tide, so you can play around easily. The villa also has a jacuzzi. Rooms are quite spacious, and the setting feels romantic. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of seafood, pork, and beef, and there are two pools, one for adults and one for babies.

The staff were friendly, but the bungalow was basic and the seawater was the worst I saw around Phu Quoc. Don’t trust the photos. With a proper clean and a bit more effort, this could be a lovely place to stay. Good luck if you book, lol.
