Roma Hotel Phu Quoc

Choosing this hotel was one of the best parts of our trip. The beach-facing room was lovely and well kept, and the view from the balcony let us watch the Kiss of the Sea fireworks. The staff were polite and helpful, and the food was great, with lots of toddler-friendly choices. My kid didn’t want to leave, and we all had a wonderful time.

The view from our Fortuna Seaview room with Balcony was so good I still miss it. We could see the sea, sunsets, fireworks, and cable cars all at once. We stayed three nights, and the hotel had a relaxed feel that suited a quiet holiday. Its sister property, Venice hotel, is noisier. The hotel is next to Kiss of Sea and a new night market, all within walking distance. I felt safe walking around at night as a solo woman. The room was roomy and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast changed each day and was good, especially the seafood pho with tomatoes. I’d definitely come back and book the same room.

I’m in the third of the hotel’s three small buildings. It used to be called “Fella Hotel” before joining the Roma Hotel brand. The room is clean, the AC works well, and the water pressure is okay. For the price, it’s good value. The complimentary breakfast is lovely and compares well with what I’ve had at other five-star hotels. I’ll stay here again on my next trip to Phu Quoc.

Our first time in Vietnam, and this was our first hotel in Phu quoc. The experience was so bad that it put us off considering Vietnam again. I don’t understand the good ratings on xhs and Google. Service and communication were both poor. Before the trip, we arranged a “shuttle van” with the hotel from the airport. There were six of us plus a baby, luggage, and two bicycle boxes, so we thought it was all settled. After immigration, we found the shuttle bus had already left. It was a bus that took hotel guests on a set schedule, not the van we’d been promised, and nobody told us until we asked. At 9 pm we asked for water, after reception had said it was refillable, but they refused and wanted to charge us 40k vnd per bottle. Buy extra water at a convenience store when you arrive in sunset town in case this happens at night. This also wasn’t baby or kid friendly. My baby fell and hit a sharp bed frame, which caused bleeding. Because they’d left us at the airport, the hotel agreed to take us to our next hotel near the airport. I gave the wrong pin, which was my fault. But when we realized we were heading to the wrong place, the driver didn’t want to take us farther and wanted to leave us by the roadside. I understand the pin was wrong, but why dump ten of us, including a senior citizen and a baby, on a busy road with no nearby landmark? Just BAD.
