If you’ve already paid a non-refundable fee, you might still be better off walking away from it and finding somewhere else. Staying or paying even more to try to fix things could make the situation worse. I’d avoid this place completely, and not let it take over your holiday or the memories you make.

The room was small and cute, with a comfy bed, hot shower, good air conditioning, and clean towels every day or so. It’s in a quiet spot, about a 10-minute walk from the night market and roughly half an hour from the beach, so getting into town was easy. They also offer breakfast, dinner, drinks, water refills, and laundry at very good prices. We really loved our stay and the lovely gentleman who owns the place. Thanks for having us, we’d recommend it.

It felt creepy, and the place looked nothing like the photos. We left right away.

The staff were unfriendly, and the room had no fridge, a TV that didn’t work, and hot water that couldn’t be relied on. Cleaning happened only every other day. I also rented a motorbike for three days, but the one they gave me at 5 pm had a broken headlight. When I told the hostel owner, he said repair shops were all closed and that I shouldn’t rent it if I didn’t want to.
