Seashells Phu Quoc Hotel & Spa Hotel

Haiah's warm, attentive service was a real highlight for us. The rest of the staff were friendly and attentive too, and made a real effort to make our stay pleasant. The pool was well kept and a lovely spot to unwind after sightseeing. Breakfast was high quality, with a varied selection to suit different tastes. The location also made exploring the area easy. We'd consider it a top choice for a future visit to Phu Quoc.

The location was pretty great, and service was good from the front desk through to the restaurant. We had the night buffet twice and thought it was outstanding. Breakfast was wonderful too, with a rotating mix of Western and Asian dishes. Our room was large and comfortable, and both the beach and pool areas were pristine and well kept. We had a phenomenal stay at this resort.

At around $450 a night over New Year, I expected a lot more. The service and facilities didn't justify the price, and this didn't feel like a 5-star hotel. There are roughly 250-300 rooms, but only about 20 sunbeds on the beach and no umbrellas. They filled up early, leaving most guests to lie on towels. The pool area had around 20 sunbeds as well, about half without umbrellas, which seemed far too few for a hotel this size. Pool bar service was slow because there weren't enough staff. We often had to get a waiter's attention several times to order, then waited a long time for drinks. Cleanliness was disappointing too. Previous guests had left a shower sponge and cap in our room. The hotel felt overpriced and short of the standard it claims to offer.

That infinity pool looking out over the ocean was the highlight for me. I could've lounged there all day if I hadn't run out of time, and the ocean is right in front, with a row of sunbeds along it. The room was clean, airy, and nicely done up. Receptionists always greeted me with a pleasant smile, which felt comforting after staying at other hotels on the same trip. The hotel is right in the busy center of the island, a good area if you want local food and a feel for everyday life instead of a resort aimed mostly at Western tastes. The island itself didn't leave much of an impression on me, so it's surprising that this stay made me reconsider going back. I was tempted to keep the place to myself with all the foreign tourists coming in, but it deserves a shoutout alongside the better-known names. If I return to Phu Quoc, I'll definitely choose this hotel.
