TINH Retreat Phu Quoc

The kind staff don't understand English, so use Google Translate. We rented their motorbike for 150k vnd per day for all four days, which let us visit sunset town, vinwonders, and vinpearl. I stayed here for four days and got to spend time with very friendly cats and kittens. They became one of my core memories from our trip to Phu quoc. If you love animals, it's definitely worth staying here. Even if you don't, trust me, they're super friendly. I played with them all four days, no bites and no scratches.

Please note this is Tinh - cafe, food and homestay, not TINH RETREAT! It's a homestay rather than a hotel, and the home-style service level should be clear to guests. Many cats live on the property, something to keep in mind if you're allergic or don't like pets, but it isn't mentioned in the property details. Room cleaning and towel changes happen only once every three days, which felt very unhygienic while on vacation and coming and going to explore the island. There was no water in the room, which was disappointing since even a basic 500ml per guest is usually provided, bottled or from another source. Guests have to take their own trash to a bin at the fuel station by the entrance, not on the property. There's a kitchen, but if you use utensils or cutlery, you must wash them yourself or pay an extra charge to have used plates and bowls cleared. Several house rules were also presented on arrival, though they weren't disclosed on the booking platform. These missing details made the stay different from what I expected. I hope management updates the description to explain the homestay arrangement and its specific rules more transparently.

Those cats deserve a mention of their own: they're tame and affectionate, purring and posing for photos, and made our vacation feel even cozier. The receptionist also deserves a big thank you. She booked a spa and a restaurant table for my birthday, and the whole celebration was magical. I have the warmest memories of it. The staff were all friendly and spoke excellent English. We used the laundry service, and our clothes came back perfectly washed, ironed, and folded. The hotel was free of annoying insects too, thanks to constant disinfection, which is a real pleasure in the tropics. Our room was very thoughtfully designed, with the sleeping space separate from the living and cooking area. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay and was clean, cozy, and modern. We'll definitely come back, and I recommend it wholeheartedly ❤️

The friendly kittens made the place feel even more magical, and the reception girls were very polite. There was also a young man who spoke English. We arrived at 2:00 PM and checked out at 11:00 AM, and they let us leave our luggage for 2-3 hours. We managed to book one day on Booking.com even though there were hardly any rooms left. It felt like a fairy tale, and we would have stayed longer if we could. The place is beautiful and the rooms look just like the photos on Booking. We'll definitely come back.
