Vida Loca Resort & Sunset Beach

The beachfront setting gave the place a nice view and atmosphere. The receptionist was excellent and very helpful, while the restaurant food was decent but took quite a while to arrive. I booked at the last minute for one night, so I couldn't choose a room. They put me in a Standard Double Garden View on the second floor. It was quite dark inside and had no soundproofing at all.

The beach area and sunsets were just perfect, and we had a fantastic time overall. We had two rooms for 16 nights. Our daughters' twin room on the first floor was a little bigger than ours. We had a lovely garden view, though our room was a bit small and the bed wasn't the most comfortable. For the price, it was adequate. Staff were helpful and friendly from check-in, and the bar and restaurant team were especially kind. After about a week, we started getting fewer towels, eventually beach towels instead of bath towels. We didn't mind as long as they were clean. But at checkout we were accused of taking random towels and told we'd have to pay a hefty fine. That left a sour taste. We discussed it with the manager, who eventually believed we hadn't taken them.

The staff really made the place feel special. They were kind, thoughtful, and fun, and the location put us close to great restaurants and in a central part of the island. We stayed in cabins that were roomy enough for two. The beach was beautiful, and the infinity pool was fantastic.

It takes about five minutes to walk to the main street, and there's an easy-to-access private beach as well. The staff were friendly and helpful, and housekeeping did a great job with the daily room service. Highly recommend!
