The villas offer striking seclusion, with private pools, complete privacy, and views of both sunrise and sunset. Ours sat high on a dramatic peninsula, looking out over the ocean and jungle. It was comfortable and stylish, and waking up to that hillside view was unforgettable. The main pools were tranquil, and service was immaculate. For an isolated, high-end retreat, Wymham delivers. That distance from local life can be a drawback, so we booked a private bike tour with Marc from Moto Nomad. It was an exhilarating, informative way to see beyond the resort: bustling markets, old fishing harbors, and quiet backroads where local life carries on. Marc knows the island well and is passionate about it, which made him a great guide. After a full day out with Marc from Moto Nomad, returning to the stillness and luxury of Wymham felt like the perfect balance. The tour connected us with Phu Quoc, while the resort gave us a relaxing place to come back to.
The villa was a lovely place to relax, with a private pool, very comfortable bedrooms, and good air conditioning in the bedrooms. Reception staff were welcoming. But the privacy wasn’t what we expected. Staff came in whenever they wanted even though we’d asked for no cleaning. A gardener stood on the roof of the villa watering plants and watching us, which felt uncomfortable. There were too many insects, and we also saw rats in the kitchen, so pest control needs attention. Other guests flew a drone and filmed everything, including us in our private pool. This was the third drone issue during our weekend staycation. Management needs to consider banning drones if they want to maintain five-star privacy.
We used this as a daytime base for exploring Phu Quoc, then came back to a quiet villa and private pool at night. It sits between Phu Quoc Town and Sunset Town, in a peaceful neighborhood that’s still being developed. Since there isn’t much nearby, families will need a car or ride-hailing. We rented a bike, which worked perfectly for us. The villa was fairly new, super clean, and comfortable, and for the price the pool alone made it worthwhile. Creeper plants around the villa attract ants and other insects, but daily cleaning kept things tidy and bug-free. Keeping the doors shut helped too. The bugs didn’t bother us much. Hospitality was excellent: when we had a TV problem on day two, maintenance replaced it immediately with a new one. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, cooked fresh from a menu instead of being a buffet. We liked that approach as a way to reduce waste. If you’re out exploring most of the day, it’s a restful place to return to. If you want a luxury sea-view stay, it may feel wasted. We’d happily return.
The Pool Villas look very nice, but the stay was disappointing for the price. Housekeeping rang the bell ten times and shouted, waking us up rudely, and we were disturbed when trying to relax. Privacy wasn’t respected: people would clean the roof and watch us while we were in the pool. Service was abysmal. Staff seemed unfriendly and completely overwhelmed, and English was practically nonexistent, making communication extremely difficult. The food was mediocre at best. The location was terrible, far from anything happening on the island. We were also given a completely defective scooter to rent, with dangerously bad brakes, worn tires, a broken speedometer, and rust everywhere. Absolutely not recommended if you expect a certain standard for the price. It looks great outside, but that’s not how the experience felt.
We paid online for a booking, but when we arrived they told us the property was closed. They’d taken our money, cancelled the booking, and left us stranded.
