VuYen Homestay Phu Quoc

We arrived expecting bungalow-style accommodation, but were told there wasn't enough space and got regular rooms instead. That might have been fine if the rooms were at a normal standard. As soon as we went in, they smelled of mold, and there was mold on the bedroom and bathroom walls. Everything felt dingy and dirty. The staff were rude and unhelpful. I wouldn't recommend staying here. I've attached photos.

The pool was great, lol, but the service was shitty. They never refilled the clean water containers, so we had to get bottles ourselves, even though they forbid us from doing that. Bugs were everywhere in our smelly room, and nobody offered to clean it.

It's very affordable, with lovely staff, a well-maintained pool and a nice location near the beach. There are reasonably priced restaurants nearby too. Don't rely on the outdoor gym equipment for a proper workout, though. There's a gym close by. Neighbours can make it noisy. In my case, it was a rooster, and I learned they crow several times through the night and day, not just at dawn.

The room was in poor condition and smelled bad. The towels were old, and there was nowhere in the toilet to put shampoo or soap.
