Homestay Lang Bien sits just steps from the quieter stretch of My Khe Beach, a lovely spot for a swim, a morning walk or a bit of reading by the water. My Khe in Quảng Ngãi feels calmer and more authentic than the busier beaches elsewhere in Vietnam. The rooms are clean and cozy, with simple coastal decor; most have sea views, and you can hear the waves as you fall asleep. The hosts are warm and helpful, happy to suggest local places, arrange transportation or cook a meal at home if you ask. That personal welcome gives it something larger hotels often miss. It feels close to nature and like a home away from home. Homestay Lang Bien is good value for solo travelers, couples or families looking for a peaceful seaside stay and the slower pace of central Vietnam's coast. Highly recommended if you'd like a break from the crowds.

The garden area was nice, and the location right next to the beach is great. There was hot water, and the air conditioning worked well, but the room was very basic, lacked a fridge and wasn't very clean. The TV didn't work, and I thought the price was too high for what was provided. Exposed wires in the bathroom looked dangerous, and the shower wouldn't stay in its wall mount. I won't stay again. There are cheaper, nicer hotels with better facilities about two minutes away.

The best part was the host. Mr Quang, pronounced Kwon, was a great guy, incredibly helpful to a pilgrim like me with only a few words of Viet, and acted on every request right away. I stayed in mid-February, and the place was above Excellent. The location is superb, with restaurants, the beach and infamous historic sites all within easy reach. The water pressure was great, the air-conditioning was fine, and a charming Ba cleaned the rooms.

The rooms need more upkeep for what they cost. The host, though, went out of his way to help us sort out some luggage issues, which was great service.
