Seagull Hotel

I stayed at the Seagull Hotel in 2016 while biking south to HCM and had such a good experience that I chose it again for the same trip, even with many more hotel options now. It’s still a wonderful place, right on the beachfront rather than across the street. I’d suggest booking in the main high-rise for the great views. The property is well maintained, and the staff and housekeeping team are friendly and helpful. Front desk service was professional and attentive, and they spoke English well. Thanks for making my stay memorable again.

A real plus is the direct beach access, which only a few hotels in the city have, with a pool area and towel service right beside the beach. We really enjoyed that and would recommend the hotel. We stayed four days and had a great time. Breakfast was very good, with Vietnamese and continental choices, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout.

We had a relaxing stay at Seagulls Hotel, and the restaurant service from Tran Thi Hung Long was a highlight. She was attentive, knew the ingredients and produce used in the dishes, and was fun to talk with. I especially liked the tuna steak, cooked perfectly with a delicate sauce that went well with the fish. Long recommended it. The beach is gorgeous, and it’s easy to enjoy with the hotel’s pool and loungers by both the pool and beach. They provide pool towels, and there are toilets, showers, and foot-wash taps nearby. The hotel is well placed for the beach, with town center just a short taxi ride away. Each day there was a complimentary treat in our room, cookies when we arrived, then fresh fruit or cakes on other days. One day they even left a joke with the fruit, a lovely gesture. On arrival, Nguyen Thi Kieu gave us a first-class welcome, and check-in was quick and smooth. We were assigned a room on the 9th floor, but asked to move farther from the road. Kieu showed us two rooms on that floor, one on each side of the building. We chose room 10 for the sunsets and the view over the square instead of the small kiddies fair ground. The room was comfortable and well appointed, with firm beds, two chairs, and plenty of tabletop space. The plugs are dated and could use an upgrade to multi-country sockets with USB. There was one multi-country plug built into the hairdryer bracket in the bathroom. The internet was slow and sometimes flaky, dropping the connection, but it worked well enough for social posts, WhatsApp, email, and WiFi calls.

The staff were super helpful and efficient, and breakfast was good. We enjoyed our stay at the Seagull, though the room could use redecorating. Our view was good, the bed was nice, and the bathroom was good too. Having a bath was a bonus, but the shower attachment soaked the bathroom when used. There were no beach sunbeds or other facilities, probably because it was low season.
