Green Valley Hotel

There's a great atmosphere, with a sensational bar and dining area, an open fire, and a pool table. The place isn't the flashiest in town, and it's a short uphill walk into town. At least the walk back downhill is easier after a busy day sightseeing or drinking. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the views are a bit better from down this way.

The mattress was foam and felt a bit moist when we arrived, and the room wasn't very clean. Breakfast didn't include any drinks. Staff weren't very friendly and didn't speak English. Even though we'd told them our arrival time, they kept us waiting a long time at check-in.

For a place that's among the cheapest hotels in Sapa, it has one of the best views, at least when I was writing this. New construction always changes things in Sapa. Across the street there's a restaurant that's basically one huge balcony with a stunning valley view. The bed was comfy, the rooms were great, and the staff were friendly. It was a great place to recover from food poisoning : )

The receptionist was very nice, and that's the one positive thing, so one star for that. The room was dirty and moldy, and relatively expensive: I paid 200k. Afterwards I saw that it costs only 180k on booking.com. I normally avoid booking.com so the hotel doesn't have to pay their comission.
