Mega View Homestay

The manager was a big help with advice and taxi bookings, and even arranged for staff to carry our luggage. We booked a walk through Mega View, led by a young Vietnamese woman who was superb. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, set back from the main street with lovely views. Mega View Homestay was a great find. Thank you!

The welcome here was lovely, and even the kitty came to greet me ♡ The room was really good, too. I traveled alone, but never felt lonely or worried. I had such an amazing stay! The one-day trekking trip was great, and Nini was the best guide. I enjoyed learning a little about their culture. I definitely want to come back.

Our third-floor room had a city view and was spacious, with good Wi-Fi and beds that were okay, though a little hard. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but one staff member was unhelpful and rather arrogant. Whenever we asked something, he acted as though it was the dumbest question he'd heard. The bathroom had a notice telling us not to use the shower, and it looked like the shower hadn't been used or cleaned in a while. We also noticed a couple of stains on the sheets. Breakfast options were very limited, and having a cat walking on the tables was completely unacceptable. There are a lot of steps up to the entrance, so a taxi can't drop you right at the lobby. That could be a problem for some people. The hotel fell below what we expected and below similar places. We wouldn't return.

The staff were friendly and provided good service. One of them often checked that guests could get a shuttle back to Lao Cai to catch the train to Hanoi. My third-floor room was spacious, well maintained for a two-star hotel, and had a breathtaking mountain view. It's a quiet spot away from Sapa town's crowds, but you may need to walk up to 10 minutes for reliable mini marts and dry cleaners. There are no lifts, and there are plenty of stairs around and inside the hotel, so be ready to climb them.
