Minh Hung Hostel

We stayed two nights and had a big, clean room in an excellent location, close to the bus station. Best of all, the family who run the place are so nice. You can rent a bike from them too.

Getting off the bus nearby was convenient, but the rest of the stay was terrible. Our room was damp, with mould on the ceiling, beds as hard as wood, and no soundproofing at all. We could hear everything. The bathroom wasn't clean, and there was only half a roll of toilet paper. People shouted in the stairwell, traffic was noisy, and we had to sleep with earplugs. The worst moment came at midnight, while we were asleep. Some kids repeatedly banged on the door, broke through the lock, and came into the room. We chased them out, but knowing the lock wasn't secure left us unsettled. We left after one night. There was no welcome when we arrived, and the woman checking us in didn't say a word. The staff member who checked us out, though, was lovely and spoke great English. A shame the other problems spoiled everything.

The owner speaks English very well and helped with all our questions. He found us a good price on a trekking tour, rents motorbikes, and helped book bus tickets that weren't available online. After checkout, he even drove us to the bus pickup point. The location is handy, near the bus drop-off, with a market, restaurants, and shops around. Our room was clean with a nice bathroom. There's no heating, which seems standard here, but the blankets were really warm.

We arrived late and needed somewhere to stay, and really enjoyed our time here. Huy was kind and so helpful, with great advice and recommendations for the area. I'm really grateful for the experience. Highly recommend.
