Sapa Mountain Hotel

Service came with a smile, and the staff did their best to help. Be patient during conversations, though, and translation apps can be useful. Our family room had two double beds and was spacious and clean. Watch your footing in the toilet, as the tiles can be slippery. The hotel is good value for its location and overall cleanliness. It’s about a five-minute walk from the town centre, but reaching it means going up a steep 100m slope, something older people and families with young children should keep in mind.

We were in Sapa from 6-8 November. It rained for a few days, but we still managed to visit the waterfalls, Cat Cat Village and Fansipan peak. Tuan, the hotel owner, was a gracious host who paid close attention to guests and handled every request with a smile, whether we needed more toiletries or to borrow an umbrella. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with a fantastic view. There are no stairs, and Tuan kindly carried our luggage up for us. Highly recommend, and thanks again.

Tuan helped us in all sorts of ways, from keeping our bags while we hiked to making a phone call about transport with a provider who didn’t speak English. We loved this charming hotel. It’s close to the town centre but quiet, and the balcony has a fabulous mountain view. We highly recommend it to other visitors to Sapa.

The breakfast was a Swedish table, though the selection was a little poor. Our fourth-floor room had no balcony, but the panoramic windows gave us a good view. The external air conditioning unit was mounted on the wall behind our bed and made a lot of noise, and the room had poor sound insulation. Even with those issues, it’s a very good hotel for a reasonable price, and I’d recommend it.
