The Marron Hotel

The food was a nice surprise, from the à la carte lunch and dinner to the morning buffet. Since it was off-season, that buffet was more of a mini-buffet, but the quality and convenience of eating right at the hotel made the prices feel reasonable. The place was nearly deserted during our September stay, so the staff may have had more time to help, but everyone we dealt with was very helpful. They did what they could to make our stay work as the Builoi Storm approached, even though I felt uneasy on the first day. We started in a room with a direct beach view, then moved to another room to avoid facing the approaching storm. The beach view was nice, but I’d go for an ocean-view room. The room met my standards, though nothing stood out. The Marron turned out to be a pleasant stay, despite my doubts at first. There are two pools. I found the backyard one on a little wander around the hotel and liked it best. At night, colored lights lit up the pool, courtyard, and nearby container cabins. You can also ask the front staff to borrow bikes for free, handy for a bit of cardio while touring the city. I’d come back if I get the chance to visit Sam Son again.

The pool area has a great view, and the pool itself is enjoyable. But the bar stayed closed all day, so you couldn’t even buy a soda there. Construction around the breakfast area made it hard to hear each other across the table. Some pretty obvious things that should be avoided while guests are around weren’t. We were also offered a better room if we wrote a good review, which I can’t go along with. Book online to save money, since walk-ins pay the full price. Please enjoy the pool.

Our sea-view room was good, and the service was good too. Breakfast was delicious.

The staff were super helpful, and the hotel was right by the beach. There was a cute little pool on the roof, a nice sea breeze, and a good breakfast. I even got a discount through the app. Such a wonderful stay.
