The rooms were great, and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the room cleaning staff. It was quiet because we came out of season. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, and I loved the Pho, fresh juices, and, of course, the coffee. There are also lots of good restaurants in town. I had a facial massage too, and it was highly recommended. A very nice resort.

January was very quiet at the resort. The gardens were lush, there was plenty to choose from on the menu, and breakfast was good. The staff were really nice and attentive.

It wasn’t very busy when I stayed, and they treated me extremely well. It’s a very nice resort in a great location, though you do have to walk a bit to reach the beach.

The garden and atmosphere were lovely, and the food was decent. Our two connected deluxe rooms were clean, though the resort didn’t seem very well maintained. The bar had several drinks unavailable when we asked, and the spa had a similar problem. There were lots of mosquitoes, and on our last night we heard rats running around on the roof.

The resort and rooms were spotless, with a lovely atmosphere and attentive service. I wanted to give it five stars, but my husband has Celiac disease and became sick after a meal at Van Chai. We told them each time that he can’t have gluten, wheat, barley, rye, or traditional soy sauce. We also asked them not to use wheat flour or soy sauce in his food, or reuse oil after frying anything containing wheat. None of the dishes seemed to include an ingredient he can’t eat, so there may have been cross-contamination that went unnoticed. The cooks at Van Chai did their best and didn’t mean to make him sick. In Vietnam, knowledge about Celiac disease and gluten-free diets is very limited, so eating out is always risky. We’d recommend coming here, but anyone with a severe allergy or an autoimmune condition like Celiac should probably avoid the resort or bring their own food to be safe.
