Huong Son Hotel Tam Dao

I regret letting the young guys talk me into staying at Huong Son Hotel. I was driving around Vietnam and stopped in Tam Dao to check hotels on the app. They showed me four room options: 400 k, 500 k, 600 k, and 1 mln VND. I picked the 1 mln VND room. At first glance it seemed cozy, and the bathroom even had a mini jacuzzi. After my bath, I wanted to relax and read the news after the long drive, but the AC wasn’t cooling properly. I tried changing the temperature, only to find the remote batteries were dead. The fan wouldn’t turn on either. I called the manager, who answered once but didn’t come to help, then ignored my later calls. Since it was hot, I had to go downstairs myself to ask for batteries. The receptionist said the manager was asleep, which was why he’d ignored both the calls and the situation. They couldn’t replace the batteries or fix the fan. They offered another room for the same price, but it was smaller and had only a shower, no bathtub, like the cheaper options. The WiFi also disappeared pretty soon, so I had to use data from my own SIM card. The manager’s disrespectful, neglectful treatment spoiled my evening. There are lots of other hotels around, and I’d highly recommend avoiding this one if you don’t want your trip around Tam Dao spoiled.
