Hon Co Ca Na Resort

We only had to drive about three hours from Ho Chi Minh City to get here. It’s a nice place to rest, with a beautiful view and amazing service. There were insects in the room, though.

The beach was covered in trash, and the shared bathroom was dirty and not working properly. The room also felt outdated, with furniture showing plenty of wear and tear. The resort is in a remote area, so getting a Grab or Xanh SM can be a real challenge. And apparently, you don’t need a swimsuit to use the pool.

The setting is peaceful, with stunning views, lovely rooms, a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. When we checked out, the manager was concerned and very apologetic about our dining experience. They partly refunded our stay, which was a welcome surprise. There are some real shortcomings, though. We had no hot water left for a shower at 8am, and the breakfast selection and the tidiness around the food and tables suggested management hadn’t trained the team well enough. Dinner was reasonably priced for what we got, but still pricey, and the burnt garlic overpowered some dishes. Maintenance and cleanliness were okay, but should have been much better. Would I recommend it? Yes, for the peaceful setting and quality of the rooms. For food and drink, only if that standard improves.

The rooms and pool were both really clean, and the rooms were comfortable too. It’s a lush garden with lovely views, and the resort’s own beach was clean and free of trash. It’s off the main highway, but still very good value for money. The staff were all helpful and friendly, and I’d definitely go back. A couple of things could be better. In the cheapest rooms, a door separates the rooms from each other, and I could hear my neighbors talking even though they weren’t loud. Better sound insulation would help. There are sun loungers, which is great, but cushions would be nice.
