Sunrise Resort

The owners and staff are genuinely nice, and Sunrise still has a clean, spacious room, a pleasant pool, and a great spot beside a small beach. But after more than ten years of visiting, I’m not sure I’ll return. We came from Saigon hoping for quiet, the sea at night, and a chance to unwind. Instead, a group of around 15 young Vietnamese guests made noise all day and into the night. They kept talking outside after being asked to stop karaoke, and people played videos aloud by the pool the next morning and throughout the day. The owners didn’t seem concerned, which was disappointing. It used to feel like a nice family hotel, but that seems to have changed. The place also looks a bit run down: poolside loungers are in very poor shape, mattresses are often dirty and there aren’t enough of them, and some pool tiles are missing and could hurt someone. It’s hard to say all this because the owners and staff really are kind, but this stay left me very disappointed.

We had a family vacation here and loved watching the powerful sea crash into the seawall. The ground would shake, and the sound was almost medicine for my mind. The people do a great job keeping everything clean. The restaurant was closed for the off-season, but there are good places to eat within walking distance. I’d recommend this resort.

I booked four of their largest rooms for three nights for a family with many children under one year old, but wanted to move out just after midnight. The pool is very good and the location is okay. I could put up with the old furniture, cockroaches, and ants, but the owner's way of speaking to us was the worst part. They were extremely impolite. I wish the rating scale went down to negative ten, because even one star feels like too much. This place wasted my time and money.

The beds were filthy and worn out, with springs sticking through, and the floor seemed like a better place to sleep. The air conditioning barely worked, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable. The restaurant is only a restaurant in name: there’s no real menu, and the food they do offer is awful. The open layout means it stays extremely loud until the local families with small children finally settle down around midnight. Even after the kids stop screaming, it’s hard to rest. I wouldn’t recommend this place to couples or anyone looking for peace. It seems suited only to local families on vacation. I also found the people generally rude, loud, and unkind to foreigners.
