I checked into the room, but it was nasty, more like a motel than a hotel. The room, bathroom, and other spaces were all really bad. I’d only been inside for a minute before I went back to the lobby and said I didn’t want to stay. They still had my passport and kept asking me to pay. The man eventually returned it, but demanded 100,000 VND. I’d spent less than five minutes checking the room, yet they made me pay. It felt like a scam. Terrible service, and probably the worst hotel in Tra Vinh. Find somewhere else.

The rooms are fine and the people are friendly, but communicating with the staff is really difficult because nobody speaks even a little English. We used a translation app to ask about renting a motorbike. They said yes and told us to wait an hour. After that it was “just a few seconds,” but each time we checked, those seconds turned into another hour. I wouldn’t arrange transport or tours through this hotel. For an overnight stay, though, it’s perfectly fine.

The hotel was dirty, the treatment wasn’t good, and the price didn’t feel worth it. Nobody spoke English, and security seemed poor. We went out for a morning walk and returned at 10, well before the 12 o’clock checkout, but they hurried us to leave. I’d left a wallet with €300 in the room. A few hours later, I realized it was gone.

The AC was a lifesaver in Tra Vinh’s heat. For about $30 CAN a night, we got a room with a queen bed and a single, plus Wi-Fi, a fridge, fan, and TV, which is a great deal. There’s also a small balcony, and the bedroom and bathroom were reasonably clean. The towels were stained, so bring your own. The toothbrushes are flimsy but work if you need them. Drinks in the fridge cost extra, while the tea and coffee on the table are free. You can bring your own water.

The owner was nice, and the rooms were lovely, with views over town. It’s right in the center, and they rent motorbikes at a good price for exploring the area.
